Standard Rebate:
Heat Pump Water Heater, 40 gallon tank: $700
Heat Pump Water Heater, BPA Tier 3, 50 gallons and above: $800
Heat Pump Water Heater, BPA Tier 4, 50 gallons and above: $900

Cowlitz PUD offers a higher rebate on hybrid water heaters for income qualified customers who have a referral from Lower Columbia Community Action Partnership (CAP). Please call us for more information.
Requirements
1. You must be an active Cowlitz PUD customer served by a residential rate. To be eligible for a rebate, your account must be in good standing. Cowlitz PUD reserves the right to withhold rebate funds and apply to past-due account balance.

2. Existing single-family homes and manufactured homes are eligible. New construction projects are not eligible.

3. The installed HPWH must replace an existing electric-resistance storage water heater.

4. The installed HPWH must be Tier 3 or above and listed on BPA’s Qualified Products List.

5. HPWH must be installed according to manufacturer’s specifications. Refer to the manufacturer’s installation instructions for guidance on location and recommendations for ducting and condensate lines.

6. Limit of one heat pump water heater rebate, per residence, every ten years.

7. Rebate cannot exceed the total cost of purchase and installation of the HPWH.

8. Program requirements and available rebates are subject to change without prior notice.
Steps to Participate
1. Purchase and install a qualifying heat pump water heater.

2. Complete the “Residential Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate Application,” and attach a copy of the purchase receipt showing the brand name, model number, order/purchase date, and cost. Completed applications must be submitted to Cowlitz PUD within 90 days of purchase.

3. Cowlitz PUD will verify the information on the application. The rebate will be issued by check within eight weeks of approval.
