Older commercial buildings can benefit from improved insulation that puts money in your pocket all year long.
  • Reduce drafts and keep your building more comfortable in the winter and summer while saving money.
  • Improve the comfort for your employees and customers; getting a rebate makes it more affordable.

Incentive Information

Attic/roof insulation, ≤R-5 to R-19: $1.75/sq. ft.
Attic/roof insulation, ≤R-5 to R-30: $1.80/sq. ft.
Attic/roof insulation, ≤R-5 to R-49: $1.90/sq. ft.
Wall insulation, ≤R-5 to R-11: $0.80/sq. ft.
Wall insulation, ≤R-5 to R-19: $1.10/sq. ft.

Attic insulation is defined as insulation that is installed in the attic crawl space, typically on a horizontal surface.

Roof insulation is defined as insulation that is installed in direct contact with the building’s roof, typically a flat or slightly pitched surface.
Requirements
1. You must be an active Cowlitz PUD customer served by a non-residential rate. To be eligible for an incentive, your account must be in good standing. Cowlitz PUD reserves the right to withhold incentive funds and apply to past-due account balance.

2. The insulation upgrade measure applies to retrofits only. New construction is not eligible.

3. The building must be electrically heated.

4. The existing insulation value must be between R-0 and R-5.

5. Program requirements and available incentives are subject to change without prior notice.
Steps to Participate
1. Contact Cowlitz PUD Energy Efficiency Services to confirm eligibility prior to starting the project.

2. Upon project completion, submit the following items to Cowlitz PUD: A completed “Insulation Project Information Form” and a copy of the installation contractor’s invoice.

3. Cowlitz PUD will verify the project meets program requirements. The incentive will be processed once verification is complete, and a check will be mailed within eight weeks of approval.
